Congratulations to Richard McNeillie Sr. Sensei on his promotion to Go-Dan (5th-Dan).Etiquette
Please remember the following:1. Please, NO talking on the mat. Talking, laughing is a distraction to others and yourself. You lose focus and concentration. Silent training is the key to success!
2. Wear zori (slippers, sandals) to and from the mat. Keep them in your bag when you are not training. Your feet should be clean and never make contact with the floor. Do NOT wear street shoes to the mat!!
3. Volunteer to sweep the mat. Don't wait to be asked. Everyone should take their turn sweeping regardless of age/rank
4. Bowing: Perform a STANDING bow when entering and leaving the dojo. Perform a KNEELING bow when getting on and off the mat and to your partners. When sensei says "thank your partners" at the end of the class, thank only those you worked with during class AND remain in kneeling position. DO NOT stand up and bow.
5. Student handbooks are now available. Please see Ronda for your copy.
